Important: In all traineeships it is possible to get lessons in Modern Greek.
Prior notice before signing the contract is necessary. People, who are interested and on a similar level (4 different levels) form a group
Every group have to pay nearly 20 Euro per lesson to the teacher. The more people in one group the cheaper is the price for every person.
Example: 5 people in a group means 4 Euro for everyone; 8 people in a group means 2 Euro for everyone.
After a short time, knowledge has to practice during the work. The textbook, which is recommended, is recommended to bring with you.
By request, it is possible to do a final test and getting a certificate about your knowledge in Modern Greek.
Besides, the head department and his friends are helpfully by reading and speaking
Greek correctly.
Culture and tourism work experience is also possible during wintertime.
Winter-Special:
Modern-Greek-Lessons: For students studying music, in addition we offer the opportunity
for rehearsels and/ or piano concerts (also violoncello, double bass, kettle drums,
drumset
are available) in the artistic cultural centre Hellenikon Idyllion which is located next to the sea
on the North west coast of the Peleponnissos.
- Development and Marketing of
EU-projects and Hellenikon-Idylllions’ competitions
- Development of international
scientific and cultural symposiums
- Application of advertising- and
sponsoring strategies

Completion of the correspondence,
Translation of texts, fiile, archiving
Creating Concert posters,
programs and invitations. Mailing and distributing them.
- Preparing the concert place and stage in the garden before the concerts
Receiving visitors
of the
concerts and, at the end of the concerts informing them about the further
concert program
- Updating the homepage
(dates, concerts, corrections, insert video tie-clips etc.)
- Determining new partners,
developing data bases with contact-addresses
- Developing and translating new
informartion folders, take up and cut video-clips
- Guest support:
Learn how to organize cultural
symposiums in the garden and to prepare Ancient Greek specialities
Important! It is not obligatory to speak German. However, as most of our trainees speak German
and 80 percents of our guests are German speaking people from Germany, Austria and Switzerland,
one should be willing to learn the language together with our German trainees. Besides German,
it is also possible to learn Modern Greek and to participate in the weekly Greek lessons.
Presupport: Sense of

3-4 h per week examination of the
accomodations and garden work:
picking up leaves, cutting withered flowers,
pour, remove weeds, shaping seat and couch places in good taste,
control the
living-rooms for eventual lacks and cleaning them in urgent cases, if e.g. the cleaning staff is absent.
- Improving and Updating the homepage with new media
- Creating short videofilms, videoclips and streaming videos

Project:
- A. Depicting audio presentations of greek philosophical Quotation-texts
- B. Creating and developing competitions and advertise them
- C.Cooperation with the cultural-management trainees
Tasks for trainees of Marketing with psychological aspects:
- awaken children's
interest for learning how to play an instrument
- managing cultural events especially for target groups (seminars, classical
music and other concerts, seminars, recitations)
- improve internet presence under psychological aspects
- design of marketing actions, including communication politics, under
psychological aspects
- development of a draft version of a questionnaire on the satisfaction of
the concert guests
- implementation and evaluation of the questionnaires
- development of draft versions of posters, flyer and invitations under
consideration of psychological theories
- development of a contest for target groups to create and widen the contact
with cultural values
New (optional for those whose mother tongue is English) :
Promotion project !
Since the end of November 2004 you can participate in at least
7 Modern Greek lessons a week, including self-studies.
(extra lessons are possible upon request). It is recommended to bring the corresponding textbooks.
German and Greek books about history mythology, arts, archeology, theology and literature.
We also have notes of classic and Greek music.
Students from countries who belong to the European Union can
apply for a scholarship at the Leonardo Da Vinci program
if they stay at least 3 months,
they can get about 400/500 Euros. You will get extra money of about 200/300 Euros
if you can prove that
you have learned Greek during the traineeship. You also get about 350 Euro for the journey.
Ask at your university whether they have information on the program.
We had a lot of trainees who took advantage of this support.
Working time, accommodation
For trainees
the working time is 36 hours a week
Several Computers are available.
Work starts at 8 or 9 a.m.
Costs for the journey and return journey as well as food supply and insurance has to be borne.
Many sorts of fruits and vegetables from the garden can be picked in summer as well as in winter with consideration for the guests.
Furthermore..
.. If there are special events, Co-Workers and trainees
which work confidently and responsibly are invited for a meal
in the taverns or to cheap trips with guests or groups .There are also special prices for co-workers in the neighbourhood.
restaurants and the bar were you pay for example 5 Euros for a buffet.
Costs
The only costs for the trainees are the costs for the accommodation with cooking opportunity and
Modern Greek lessons.
The costs from April until October are 90 Euros a week in a shared bedrooms
120.- in a double room
and 150 in a single room- if available.
If you do your work experience during november and march, the costs are 65 Euros a week,
including electric heater and 90 Euros a week in a single room.
The costs have to be paid 4 weeks before the beginning of the traineeship.

or practical course at short-notice and on a long-term basis. On request we gladly send you adresses of guests
who worked here or who did a practical training.
